This is a great opportunity for a dynamic indivitual. This candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational & communication skills; a strong proficiency in multi-tasking with hospitality conference services experience is essential. The responsibilities of the Conference Services Manager and Convention Services include but are not limited to:
Administration
- Work closely with client after booking to develop good working relationship, including letter of introduction, meeting planner materials, prompt response to calls and requests.
- Responsible for Detailing and executing all parts of Banquet and Catering Events
- Maintain professionalism in problem situations.
- Maintain detailed records of discussions with guest, including room accommodations, all meeting setups, food and beverage, transportation, etc. with the support of the Sales & Catering Manager
- Upsell to improve revenue generation on property.
- Sell to specific market segments based on the direction of the Director of Sales & Marketing
- Be readily available during functions for consultation with client
- Ability to work with the operation team to execute group, meeting, and event business
- Develop and execute strategic plans to maximize revenue while nurturing existing client relationships
- Flexible schedule required to accommodate client needs.
- Preside at conference planning meetings where details related to group coordination will be discussed and reviewed by management with the support of the Sales & Catering Manager
- Participate in site reviews.
- Conduct exit interviews with clients to solidify repeat business and distribute results.
- Participate in the preparation of the annual hotel budget.
- Ability to develop and lead the team to achieve consistency throughout operations while meeting company and state safety regulations
- Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner.
- Ability to accurately use various office and accounting software.
Support
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.
- Ability to assist with the design and preparation of statistical reports and presentations as needed.
- Ability to accurately report information.
- Ability to assist with various office tasks as needed.
- Ability to scrupulously follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.
- Attend required meetings.

Requirements
- Knowledge of CI/TY and Marriott systems to include Lightspeed Preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet Explorer/Google Chrome

Additional responsibilities specific to you are:
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
- Must have a comprehensive knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Must have exceptional mathematical and computer skills.
- High school education and relevant training and experience required. Additional education preferred.
- Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates.
- CPR training required; first aid training preferred.
- Additional language ability preferred.
- Occasional travel required.
