Position Overview

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager, with BESS System Integration Construction Site, is an experienced environmental, health and safety leader, with extensive construction worksite safety experience, as well as experience developing corporate EH&S procedures and standards in the Energy Storage Industry. This includes identifying risks, developing mitigation plans, and driving a safe work culture in a field environment (System Integration). In addition, the EH&S Coordinator will foster a culture of continuous improvement and safe workplace habits. This individual will ensure that the company maintains compliance with all EH&S related country, federal, state, and local regulations. Will have primary EH&S ownership of all active System Installation Sites.

Primary Responsibilities

• Complies with, enforces, and actively promotes all corporate safety policies and procedures and ensures adherence at BESS System Integration Construction Sites
• Develop and update construction site safety standards, instructions, codes, and formalize them into
  company documented practices as required
• Completes EH&S Supplier Assessment and Vendor Approval Process pre and post awards for all subcontractors and service providers per project

• Establish and complete risk assessment plans for contractors to ensure all risks are proactively addressed and control systems are implemented and maintained
• Participate in developing and promoting on- or off-job safety educational programs to address safety issues or concerns
• Ensure safety obligations with clients are carried out as per the terms of the clients and communicated to Site Supervision
• Provide direction and support to ensure compliance with the company’s established policies and procedures; as well as those outlined by clients
• Responds to and serves as LGES-VT site safety representative for (among other things) all critical activities, crisis events, and OSHA inspections, and investigations
• Stays up to date on all industry developments and changes to applicable federal, state, and local safety rules and regulations that affect the Company
• Required to be in the field up to 25% - 50% of the time or per Project Manager or client requirements
• Ensure that the following material is available on site: HSE Manual, the applicable OH&S legislation and regulations, site safety inspection forms, observation forms, toolbox sign in sheet and equipment inspections
• Communicate with and assist workers to ensure that all safety expectations are met
• Indirectly supervise the work and safety practices of various craftspeople in an industrial setting
• Reports to and meets regularly with the Director of Operations

Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Understanding of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
• Preferred Training Certificates.

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certificate
• OSHA 10 or 30 General Industry Certificate.
• Cal/OSHA 30 for Construction.
• OSHA #511 Standards for the General Industry (2008) (30 Hour).
• OSHA # 510 Standards for the Construction Industry (2008) (30 Hour).
• OSHA # 501 Trainer Certificate.
• NFPA 70 Training.
