Senior Energy Manager

Colorado Springs, CO (On-Site at the United States Air Force Academy)

Up to $130,000 + Relocation Assistance Available

Colorado Network Staffing (CNS) is seeking an experienced Senior Energy Manager to support facility and energy management operations at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This is a unique opportunity to support one of the nation's premier military institutions while working alongside a multidisciplinary Architecture & Engineering team responsible for installation engineering and management functions. The selected candidate will play a critical role in advancing energy conservation, sustainability, utility management, and facility modernization initiatives across the Academy.

What You'll DoEnergy Management & Sustainability
  • Lead energy conservation and sustainability initiatives across USAFA facilities
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to optimize building energy performance
  • Conduct energy audits and identify utility cost reduction opportunities
  • Develop energy models using eQuest or similar software
  • Support LEED documentation and sustainability planning efforts
  • Recommend innovative energy technologies, controls, HVAC systems, lighting solutions, and renewable energy opportunities
Program & Project Management
  • Support and manage federal energy programs including ECIP, FEMP, ESPC, UESC, and MILCON initiatives
  • Develop DD Form 1391 project programming documentation
  • Conduct life-cycle cost analyses and energy project evaluations
  • Coordinate energy project planning, funding, and implementation
Utility & Compliance Management
  • Manage utility consumption reporting and validation
  • Support DoD and Air Force energy reduction goals
  • Conduct facility energy and water conservation audits
  • Prepare quarterly energy performance and compliance reports
  • Coordinate Energy Management Steering Group meetings


QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with energy-efficient building systems and technologies
  • Experience developing energy models using eQuest or similar software
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and building controls
  • Experience supporting facility operations and energy management initiatives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work on-site at the United States Air Force Academy
  • Ability to pass a governmental background check
  • U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred
  • 10+ years of DoD energy management experience
  • Prior Air Force Civil Engineering Squadron experience
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), or Green Building Engineer (GBE)
  • Experience supporting federal energy programs and contracts
