The Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is pivotal in ensuring the financial sustainability and growth of our healthcare services. This role oversees the entire revenue cycle process, including billing and collections, focusing on maximizing revenue and ensuring a seamless, compliant, and patient-centered experience. With a strong emphasis on optimizing processes and integrating innovative solutions, the Director of RCM will lead efforts to enhance financial performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the overall mission of providing exceptional care to the communities we serve. Experience with EPIC systems is highly desirable to facilitate the integration and optimization of our revenue cycle operations within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the revenue cycle process, insurance verification, medical coding, billing, collections, and patient financial services.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the revenue cycle's efficiency, reduce errors, minimize denials, and improve patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical and operational leaders to ensure alignment of revenue cycle processes with clinical services and patient care objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce revenue cycle policies and procedures that comply with federal, state, and payer regulations and guidelines.
  • Analyze and report on revenue cycle performance, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by introducing EPIC system enhancements, process optimizations, and technology solutions to streamline revenue cycle operations.
  • Oversee staff development and training to ensure the revenue cycle team is proficient in current billing practices, coding standards, and EPIC system functionalities.
  • Engage in payer contract negotiations and manage relationships with insurance companies to ensure favorable reimbursement rates and terms.
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the financial planning efforts of the organization by providing insights and projections based on revenue cycle data.
  • Strictly adheres to all Evara Health, HIPAA, HRSA, State, Federal and accreditation agency rules and regulations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees the direct and contracted Revenue Cycle Management team, including coding, billing, collections, and patient financial services staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to engage and motivate a team.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, and collections practices, especially within an FQHC context.
  • Proficiency with EPIC systems and other healthcare IT solutions related to revenue cycle management.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, healthcare providers, and external stakeholders

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in revenue cycle management within a healthcare setting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience with EPIC or similar healthcare information systems.
