Medical Billing Coder - Staff Assistant

We are currently looking to hire a self-starter and detail oriented individual to assist with reading comprehension of medical and billing reports to generate, edit, and compile controverting affidavits for filing.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. We are also looking for individuals to be able to think outside the box on a situation-by-situation basis.

Responsibilities

• Reading comprehension and application of medical terminology & moderate legal terminology
• Medical billing/coding functions and application of medical billing terminology
• Compiling controverting affidavits for filing
• Effective communication via phone and/or email

Skills

• Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of an office
• Computer Literacy
• Proficiency in English (bilingual is a plus)
• Working knowledge of basic computer skills (word, excel, acrobat)
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure
• Medical Terminology REQUIRED***
• Medical Billing/Coding knowledge PREFERRED***
• Moderate understanding of legal terminology PREFERRED***
• Basic Mathematical skills + 10 Key for calculator STRONGLY PREFERRED***
• Ability to take direction and work in a self sufficient environment
