Job Description

Job Summary:

A Project Engineer has the responsibility of planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to ensure that a project is completed within the budget and schedule. The Project Engineer supervises and manages various engineering aspects such as submittal drawings, change order submittals, RFI’s, and shop drawings. The Project Engineer is also responsible for researching compliance regulations, developing project implementation plans, and adjusting specifications for elements of a project to maintain project standards. This role requires a strong technical background in engineering, as well as excellent project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

· Collaborating with the project manager, engineers, and design team to review project plans, specifications, and requirements.

· Developing detailed engineering drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication plans.

· Coordinating with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to address design issues and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.

· Assisting in the procurement of materials and equipment needed for the project.

· Managing and overseeing the fabrication and installation processes, ensuring that work is carried out according to engineering standards and project specifications.

· Collaborating with field personnel and subcontractors to provide technical guidance and support during the construction phase.

· Assisting in the resolution of engineering-related challenges, such as design changes, site constraints, or unforeseen conditions.

· Managing project documentation, including engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.

Project Engineers serve as an interface between Chancey Metals and its customers, employees, and the public. Project Engineers are expected to be knowledgeable with respect to the company’s mission, policies, and capabilities. They are key participants in corporate development initiatives and utilize their influence constructively towards the achievement of corporate goals and objectives. Project Engineers are required to demonstrate professional conduct and ethical behavior.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS.

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.

· Knowledge of construction processes and industry standards.

· Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

Education and Experience:

· A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.

· Previous experience in engineering and project management in the construction industry, preferably with a focus on metal steel projects.

· Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to metal steel fabrication and installation.
