Graduate Advising and Co-Curricular Programs Director


Position Summary:

The Graduate Advising and Co-Curricular Programs Director is instrumental in enhancing Westminster University's graduate student's educational experiences by providing advising services, directing co-curricular programs, and running events for all graduate CBE programs in the Bill & Vieve Gore School of Business (BVGSB). This role also provides support for the student experience across all graduate programs at Westminster University by being a dynamic and compassionate leader dedicated to promoting academic success and professional growth.

The Graduate Advising and Co-Curricular Programs Director reports to the Dean of School of Business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Student Engagement and Advising

  1. Oversee the advising of new and continuing graduate and CBE business students. Maintain student files, assess transcripts, graduation evaluations, scholarships, and degree audits.
  2. Recruit prospective students by presenting at graduate orientation, admissions open houses, corporate events, etc.
  3. Create and manage program offerings to increase graduate student participation in co-curricular activities.
  4. Manage and execute recruiting events such as: the MBA Power Lunch Series and Lunch & Learn to build enrollments in graduate and CBE business programs.
  5. Coordinate efforts to improve the graduate student experience across all Westminster graduate programs.
  6. Assist with BVGB social media planning and execution for graduate and CBE programs.

Co-curricular Program Management

  1. Manage the operations of a variety of co-curricular programs including but not limited to: Opportunity Quest Competition and related events.
  2. Oversee the planning and execution of graduate student and CBE orientations and graduation ceremonies.
  3. Monitor, analyze, and project class enrollments.
  4. Collaborate with graduate faculty trip leaders to plan international context tours for graduate business students.
  5. Manage international context tour budgets.
  6. Manage students planning on going on international context trip, assisting trip leaders in collecting needed documentation, sending out communication and other duties to assist in trip planning and execution.
  7. Organizational Responsibilities

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree and two to four years of higher education or other relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with faculty, staff, students and the community.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to foster strong and collaborative working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Has the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Ability to work with individuals with diverse backgrounds and perspectives in a respectful and inclusive manner.
  • Proven analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Superb project management and process creation/implementation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education or work experience at liberal arts institutions.
  • An MBA or equivalent degree is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with customer relationship management in higher education.
  • Experience working in a business entrepreneurship program, corporate engagement program, and/or community engagement program.

Additional Requirements:

  • Regular travel throughout the year and/or at specified times of the year will be required.
  • Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required.
