Job Description

Description: The Director of Instruction serves as a content and curriculum expert. The Director of Instruction manages the training and implementation of network curriculum. Implementation of the program includes managing and analyzing student achievement data, leading content specific training, coaching teachers and leaders, and ensuring fidelity of data and program implementation.

Student Achievement Metrics

• 90% of K-2nd students are on/above grade level in reading, language, and math.

• 80% of students achieve Level 3, 50% achieve Level 4, and 20% at Level 5 on FAST exams.

• Junior Class ACT Average Score of 21

• 100% of BPA seniors meet the requirements for Graduation.

• 50% of all students in Intervention grow two or more years in Reading and Math.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure successful implementation of curriculum for students in grades K-8 for a cohort of schools so that schools meet the district end of year student achievement goals.

• Support effective curriculum rollout through weekly data analysis, feedback, observations, and coaching.

• Facilitate Weekly Data Calls to provide clear next steps for student groups and teachers.

• Provide recommendations based on test results.

• Conduct in field observations, (real-time) coaching and support to school leaders.

• Identify trending issues across the cohort and address it systematically.

• Ensure materials are procured properly by working side-by-side with leaders to complete the order form and turning it into the district designated point person.

2. Manage district wide systems and processes for curriculum at the regional level such as Testing, BOY Content Training, BOY Roster Creation, BOY/EOY Roster Verification, Data Collection, Mid-Year Hire, and other related trainings.

• Collaborate with other Directors of Instruction to execute BOY Content professional development for all teachers.

• Lead professional development for campus instructional leaders (Placement Testing, Roster Creation, Peer Coaches Training, Coaching Academy, Systems Overview, EOY Roster Verification).

• Check BOY Rosters to ensure that they are set up properly.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of teaching or coaching experience.

• Track record of success in the content and/or curriculum aligned programming.

• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and priorities.

• Bachelor’s or higher degree.

• Experience coaching instructional leaders.

• Knowledge of curriculum programs such as Direct Instruction, Eureka Math, and other high quality instructional materials.

• A strong record of results as a curriculum writer or system-wide administrator

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms

• Knowledge of the state assessments

• Knowledge of the state standards

• Knowledge of the research on content-area best practices

• Knowledge of the elements and process of curriculum design and development

• Exceptional organization and communication skills

• Knowledge in curriculum development and implementation

• Knowledge in creating, implementing and analyzing assessment data

• Ability to manage a budget and staff

• Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures

• Ability to stay up-to-date on education trends and best practices

Physical Requirements: Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move

Compensation: BridgePrep Academy offers a competitive salary between $66,000 and $100,000 and benefits. BridgePrep Academy is an equal-opportunity employer and an organization that values diversity.
