Medical Record Specialist I

Are you organized and methodical by nature? Our busy law firm is hiring a Medical Record Specialist I whose primary responsibility is to acquire medical, billing, and other records efficiently on behalf of our clients. The MRS I is detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, and can proactively utilize the tools provided by our firm to meet deadlines and support the overall goals of the firm.
Compensation:$40,000 - $47,000 Depending on Experience
Responsibilities:- Adhere to the firm's policies and procedures
- Manage task reports to adhere to deadlines
- Continuously re-prioritize as needed
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and client confidentiality
- Send record requests promptly
- Verify cost for records and negotiate for reduction(s) as needed
- Review incoming records to ensure accuracy
- Maintain diligent documentation and record-keeping
- Medical Record experience preferred
- Experience in a legal setting preferred
- A minimum of three years in a customer service setting is required
- Impeccable data entry skills and ability to communicate are necessary for success
- Verifiable references required
- Completion of the affiliated DISC assessment required for consideration
- This is not a remote position
