Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:
- Ensures company compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; creates and maintains policies and practices to maintain compliance and effectively communicate and support the company's strategic vision and business objectives.
- Assist with all applicable human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.
- Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.
- Facilitate activities related to recruitment, including job posting, candidate sourcing and coordinating assessments, interviews, requests for background checks and drug screens and/or results.
- Conduct the new hire and onboarding processes, including preparation and presentation of an offer letter, review of company policies and benefit plans, and collection and processing of new hire paperwork.
- Serve as in-house specialist to the Leadership Team on issues impacting employee relations to ensure compliance with regulatory concerns and maximize employee satisfaction.
- Administer workers’ compensation in accordance with Company standards and completes necessary follow-up work.
- Coordinate, plan, schedule, and maintain records for various human resources projects, meetings, and training and development programs.
- Update and maintain the employee offboarding process.
- Administer the unemployment process by providing vendor with necessary information and backup documentation regarding employee separation.
- Maintain and update job descriptions for all positions.
- Respond to general inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, timecards, etc. from employees and leadership at various levels of the organization.
- Oversee effective implementation and management of employee performance evaluation process to ensure employees receive the necessary performance feedback to maximize performance and ensure raises and bonuses are contingent upon legitimate performance.
- Perform general clerical duties to include filing, copying, maintaining, tracking, mailing, and ordering human resources materials, etc.
- Compile reports and perform ad hoc reports as needed for management.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree in business, human resources, or a related field, strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of human resources and administrative support, or related experience, required.
- Proficient knowledge and experience with Federal and State employment laws.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential or aPHR/PHR preferred.
- Exceptional ability to manage tasks, problems, or situations with the highest level of discretion.
- Proficient knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools and ability to quickly become proficient with other related human resources technology and tools.
- Capacity to resolve complex problems impacting people, processes, and programs.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Exceptional ability to maintain employee information confidentially at all times.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
