Senior Refrigeration Service Technician

Easy Ice has a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Refrigeration Service Technician in-house at our Charleston branch. The successful, results-oriented SRT will be able to clean, maintain, troubleshoot and install Easy Ice ice machines, aiming to increase equipment life and reliability, reduce service calls and emergency ice purchases, all while increasing customer happiness and loyalty. Additional, aid in the creation of troubleshooting processes and procedures to assist in the development of the overall performance of the Technical Application of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Manage the function and flow of the refurb line
- Ensuring that Refurbishment numbers are met
- Responsible for the communication of performance/Issues with Operations Team
- Communicator on “common” issues found of series of units
- Diagnose service problem down to the component
- Capable of replacing compressors, expansion valves and any other refrigeration component
- Mentor and train junior installers and technicians
- Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
- Complete timely and detailed service reports on jobs performed at each site (digital photos, descriptions of issues, etc., to correct problems in the future) using the warehouse
- Purchase parts, supplies, materials used in the field
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Vocational/Technical Training/Degree preferred
Experience:
- 7-10+ years of field service experience
- Demonstrated track record of delivering highest level of customer satisfaction
- Working knowledge of mobile tools and applications
- Team leadership required
- Previous experience with training programs and team development preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand; walk; sit; use ladders; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel surfaces, parts and tools; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Stands for extended periods of time (8+ hours per day)
- While the noise level in the work environment is usually somewhat quiet, the worker may be subject to elevated noise levels
- Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules
