Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dependable HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial and industrial refrigeration systems- including ammonia CO2 and be capable of installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of HVAC and refrigeration equipment. This role requires excellent technical ability, strong problem-solving skills, and professionalism when working with clients at various commercial sites.

Key Responsibilities

Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Work on a range of equipment, including RTUs, VAV systems, centrifugal and absorption chillers, reciprocal and screw compressors, and associated controls.

Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and control systems issues.

Perform essential repairs and routine maintenance on ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems.
Recharge systems using the appropriate refrigerant (ensuring proper evacuation of foreign matter for optimal performance)

Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings accurately.

Assist with system start-ups, testing, commissioning, and performance verification.

Maintain accurate service reports, testing, commissioning, and performance verification.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, especially concerning refrigerant handling.

Operate company vehicles, tools, and equipment safely and responsibly.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 2+ yeas of commercial HVAC and refrigeration field experience

EPA Universal Certification

Proven experience working with ammonia and/or CO2 refrigerant systems

Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills

Familiarity with reciprocating and screw compressors

Background in industrial refrigeration and gas compression systems preferred

Ability to work independently and efficiently at remote job sites

Excellent communication skills and confidence in client facing interactions

Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation tools

Valid drivers license with clean driving record

Physical ability to life to 50 lbs and safety climb ladders
