SUMMARY: The Refrigeration Helper is responsible for assisting the Refrigeration Operator with the preventative and predictive maintenance of the refrigeration equipment in the facility. Assist with Boiler and steam system maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Assist in maintaining equipment and processing service records.
  • Document services, repairs, temperature readings and other information pertinent to the ongoing support of the refrigeration systems and Boiler and steam systems.
  • Assist operator with preventative and predictive maintenance on all refrigeration systems and equipment, including Boiler and steam systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Required
    • High school or equivalent
    • Previous experience in refrigeration, maintenance, or similar skill set
    • Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA) membership w/Certified
    • Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) or ability to obtain certification
    • Able to pass and maintain state High Pressure Steam Boiler License
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Speaking, reading & writing in English
    • Skilled in the use of hand tools
  • Preferred
    • High Pressure Steam Boiler operation
    • Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) certification
    • Ammonia Refrigeration (2 stage system)
    • Process Safety Management (PSM) understanding
