Job Title: IT Semiconductor Product Validation - SME II - Semiconductor Product Validation

Location: Redmond, WA, United States

As part of the Mixed Reality display software team, you will play a crucial role in developing the firmware and driver software essential for our products, shaping the future of Mixed Reality.
Responsibilities:

Develop firmware and drivers for the Mixed Reality display software team.
Contribute to defining the next generation of Mixed Reality products.
Design, test, debug, and enhance display diagnostics and calibration tools.
Create functional test scripts and software for display firmware features.
Support hardware bring-up, device manufacturing, and failure analysis.
Review and provide feedback on software and firmware code changes.
Maintain documentation and wikis on display software/firmware features and troubleshooting tips.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of professional experience for senior role, 3+ years for junior role, in embedded software/firmware development.
Proficiency in C/C++, with Python skills being desirable.
Experience with embedded hardware, including knowledge of schematics, I2C, SPI, USB, RS232, and associated communication protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Windows or Linux device driver development.
Familiarity with Android and/or Qualcomm SoC.
Background in display hardware bring-up and manufacturing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with debugging tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, and bus analyzers.
Exposure to AR/VR technology is a plus.
Additional Responsibilities (Performance Areas):

Automation scripting and framework development.
Component owner responsibilities.
Acting as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for junior SMEs and test leads.
Understanding and addressing customer expectations.
Conducting technical interviews for project requirements.
Contributing to test case writing and validation.
Performing root cause analysis and suggesting enhancements.
Attending customer meetings and effectively communicating requirements and results.
Conducting end-to-end escape analysis and test planning.
Resolving technical impediments within the team.
Evaluating the effectiveness of planned test cases.
Managing project timelines, SLA adherence, and process compliance.
Mentoring junior team members and conducting training sessions.
Participating in hiring processes to ensure the right candidates are selected.
Skills and Knowledge:

Good presentation and diplomacy skills.
Strong bug advocacy and automation scripting skills.
Ability to identify severity and priority of issues.
Proficient in estimating effort and time for work.
Work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Analytical mindset with domain knowledge.
Understanding of CPU/GPU architecture.
Expertise in product lifecycle and architecture.
Familiarity with component level workflows and calls.
Performance Measures:

Define productivity standards for projects.
Adhere to timelines and SLAs.
Ensure compliance with validation standards and processes.
Monitor quality metrics and customer satisfaction.
