Project Manager - Semiconductor
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead capital projects in semiconductor fabrication and related facilities. The successful candidate will drive project delivery from initiation through turnover, coordinating design, construction, and commissioning of mechanical, process, and utility systems (including HVAC, piping, and plumbing) to meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety targets. This role requires a practical understanding of semiconductor processes and construction best practices, strong stakeholder leadership, and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and contractors.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning and execution for semiconductor facility and process equipment projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Manage design and construction activities for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and process utility systems, including selection and coordination of contractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and performance metrics; proactively identify and mitigate risks and bottlenecks.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, OEMs, architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory authorities; facilitate clear communications and decision-making.
  • Oversee procurement, subcontracts, and change management processes to control cost and maintain project timelines.
  • Coordinate commissioning, validation, and turnover activities, ensuring systems meet required performance, code compliance, and process specifications.
  • Ensure projects comply with safety, environmental, and building codes, SEMI standards, and company quality management systems; champion site safety and construction best practices.
  • Prepare regular project reports and executive updates, and present progress to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and lead multidisciplinary project teams, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement in project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline; advanced degree or relevant certifications a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in semiconductor fabs, high-tech manufacturing, or industrial construction, with direct experience managing HVAC, piping, plumbing, and process utility scopes.
  • Proven track record delivering MEP and process projects through design, construction, and commissioning on time and on budget.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor process requirements, cleanroom construction, SEMI standards, and environmental health & safety regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, piping design and installation, HVAC systems, and plumbing codes.
  • Experience with project controls tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Procore, or equivalent; competent with cost estimating and schedule management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence contractors and cross-functional teams.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or LEED are desirable.
  • Willingness to work on-site as required, travel to supplier or fabrication sites, and manage multiple concurrent projects.
