Position Overview

Lead Axiom's manufacturing with passion and innovation. Join our dynamic team as we navigate the exciting evolution of our company. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our production landscape, setting the tone for efficiency, quality, and exceptional client service.

As Head of Manufacturing, you'll take the helm of our highly skilled team, overseeing every stage of production from creating parts through fulfillment. You'll champion cross-functional collaboration across our CNC, Build, Metal, and Finish specializations, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery of flawless products that exceed our clients' expectations.

Position Responsibilities
  • Drive overall manufacturing performance, with full accountability for meeting production targets, quality standards, delivery deadlines, and safety/business compliance.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the entire manufacturing operation, aligning production with overall company goals and objectives.
  • Oversee and guide the managers of each specialized manufacturing area (CNC, Build, Metal, Finish), ensuring efficient workflow, resource allocation, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration between departments, prioritizing production schedules, resolving workflow bottlenecks, and maintaining a dynamic working environment.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain robust quality control measures, ensuring all products meet and exceed client specifications.
  • Foster a culture of safety and environmental awareness within the manufacturing team.
  • Develop and implement production schedules, managing capacity planning and resource allocation to meet client deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering, project management, and purchasing teams.
  • Assist in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on the success of the manufacturing operation.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a leadership role within a custom manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and optimizing production processes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage teams.
  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge and experience in each of our four key manufacturing areas:
  • CNC: Strong understanding of CNC programming, machine operation, and material selection.
  • Building: Expertise in woodworking and cabinetry techniques, assembly processes, and quality control procedures.
  • Metalworking: Proficiency in welding, cutting, forming, and finishing of metal components.
  • Finishing: In-depth knowledge of surface preparation, painting, powder coating, and other finishing techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders across all departments.
  • Proficiency in production planning methodologies and scheduling software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills approach.
  • Passion for innovation and a desire to push boundaries within the manufacturing industry.

Bonus Experience
  • Previous experience with lean manufacturing or six sigma.
