About the Team

The Austin Studio is responsible for the development of entertaining land-based slot machines. The studio is part of Bluberi's R&D department, which includes other development teams in the US and Canada. Our game development team is comprised of enthusiastic and experienced professionals across multiple disciplines including mathematics, visual arts, software engineering, game design, audio engineering and quality assurance. We work in a hybrid model to ensure effective iteration of creative content on target hardware while providing personal flexibility and work efficiency.

Essential Functions

Develop entertaining gaming experiences
1. Implement content and game features to craft captivating gaming experiences.
2. Responsible for defining functional requirements, identifying dependencies and creating scoping assessments for product designs.
3. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for Unity-based games.
4. Debug and fix issues identified by QA or internal testing teams.
5. Lead code reviews and provide regular mentorship.
6. Contribute to organization's technical knowledge base.
7. Ensure studio follows best practices and stays updated on latest Unity features and internal tooling.

Required education and experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant experience in lieu
10+ years programming experience, with significant experience in game development.
Expertise in C# and Unity development.
Expertise in using integrated development environments (IDEs) like Visual Studio.
Competent with version control systems, such as Git and SVN.
Advanced knowledge about the casino gaming industry and regulatory requirements.
Good verbal and written communication skills. Can modulate information to different development domains. Demonstrates effective presentation skills.
Strong people skills. Works well with creative conflict in a consensus-based, collaborative environment. Able to lead teams through significant change.
Shows dedication to continuous learning and contributes to improving the studio and organization. Spends regular time on self-improvement that provides value to the organization.

Preferred education and experience

Significiant experience with C++ and C for tool and engine support preferred.
Demonstrates and champions Bluberi values around teamwork, ownership and transparency.
Strong organizational skills and can manage work across multiple projects at a time. Shows attention to detail and quickly absorbs and recalls new information.
Able to direct the effective organization, storage and dissemination of studio documents and technical requirements.
Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
