Come join the team here at French Truck! We are looking for a Director of Operations to oversee the retail side of the company. The incumbent will manage a team of Operations Managers who oversee 12 physical locations across Louisiana and Tennessee. Their office will be located at 1116 S Telemachus St., New Orleans, LA 70125. The incumbent will either be local to the New Orleans, LA area or must be willing to relocate.

The Director of Operations is tasked with creating and implementing an effective long and short-term strategy for all retail locations of French Truck Coffee. They are also tasked with the supervision of Operations Managers. The Director of Operations is responsible for providing guidance to Operations Managers involving business strategy, performance, and an emphasis on team-building while fostering and maintaining a friendly, welcoming, organized, clean and customer service driven atmosphere. They act as a representative of French Truck Coffee, building and fostering professional relationships internally with staff, and externally with vendors and suppliers, and are responsible for operational execution, financial performance, and special projects as assigned. The Director of Operations will be required to travel to retail locations consistently which may result in traveling often, including out of state travel.

Essential Job Functions

  • In conjunction with the Director of Sales & Marketing, develop, implement, and maintain a highly competitive strategy for researching and sourcing products and packaging
  • Set and leverage data analytics to drive organizational decision-making and advancement for core facets of operations related activities
  • Manage the operations department budget and contribute to the overall Company budget, including forecasting for projected growth, anticipated cost increases, and market/economy fluctuations
  • Review and monitor inventory, scheduling, performance, purchases, and other expenses to ensure teams and facilities are within budget
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with operations specific vendors to provide products and services
  • Partner with human resources to consistently evaluate organizational structure
  • Organize activities surrounding services and installations for new store openings
  • Establish and manage safety, quality, and productivity standards for all retail operations and train your direct reports on them
  • Help to establish and maintain strong, positive, credible, professional external relationships with all parties relevant to French Truck Coffee including customers, vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers
  • Communicate with the rest of the Executive Team to filter relevant information into the proper channels
  • Occasional travel to retail locations including out-of-state locations

Supervisory Job Functions

  • Organize and facilitate weekly meetings for operations managers, as well as regular 1-on-1 conversations with direct reports individually.
  • Work to establish and develop best practices in all aspects of the business to be shared with your direct reports
  • Develop performance goals collaboratively with direct reports, reflecting the company's goals, business needs, and strategic directives
  • Ensure that current business needs and performance goals are clearly communicated to managers, ensuring that information is filtered down through the entire staff
  • Provide fair, constructive, and timely feedback towards performance expectations and goals
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and coaching support as needed
  • Perform other duties or special projects as necessary

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required; focus in business administration or related field preferred
  • At least seven (7) years of operations management experience in the food service, food product manufacturing and/or hospitality industry preferred; Three (3) years required

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time on occasion
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time on occasion
  • Mix of standard office, manufacturing, and retail store environments
  • Travel Required: 25% to 50% of the time between in and out-of-state locations
