Ambassador

We are looking to hire an Ambassador to join our Lux Row team in Bardstown, KY. The Ambassador is responsible for providing a fun, exciting and engaging experience for visitors to Lux Row Distillers. They will conduct educational tours of the distillery and engage the visitor in the history, distilling process and provenance of the distillery’s brands. The Lux Row Ambassador will also guide visitors on our tasting experience at Lux Row Distillers.

What will you do?

• Conduct tours and tastings of the distillery as needed, approximate tour size of 2-20 people depending on the season.
• Perform opening and closing duties within the distillery visitor experience.
• Ability to engage visitors on the history, distilling process and other points of interest of Lux Row Distillers
• Direct tastings and educate visitors on the Lux Row Distillers portfolio.
• Ability to be cross trained on all aspects of the experience (tours, tastings, retail management, tour scheduling, etc.)
• Ensure retail space is kept neat and stocked.
• Cleaning and setting tastings after and after each tour as needed (as well as keeping tasting room stocked)
• Maintaining and updating any and all parts of the visitor experience as needed
• Ability to greet visitors and manage the tour schedules as visitors arrive.
• Assist with receiving, tagging and merchandising of product and POS.
• Be familiar with standard operating procedures and be trained in case of an emergency.
• Assist with VIP's and marketing events as needed (these events may be after hours or different days of the week)

Distillery Expertise:

• Represent and passionately speak about the brands at the distillery.
• Understand Lux Row distilling process, key product benefits vs. competition and be able to passionately bring that to life for consumers.
• Consistently research, train and remain updated on our portfolio of brands and the bourbon category.

Business Analytics:

• Have broad marketplace understanding of the bourbon segment and competitive brands.
• Understand the Lux Row portfolio of brands.

What do you need to bring to the table?

• High school degree required, college degree preferred.
• Previous hospitality/bourbon tourism experience a plus, but not mandatory
• Outgoing, charismatic personality
• Good communication skills, especially verbal
• Desire to learn about whiskey and the process of making whiskey.
• Knowledge of spirits industry preferred, but not mandatory.
• Over 21 years of age
• Weekend and holiday work
• Extended time walking or standing, including extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
