Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a HR Manager who will partner with company leadership to develop, promote, and support its people and organizational strategies. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and forward-thinking HR professional who has proven success with all core functions of HR as well as possesses a positive and “hands-on” attitude.

This is a full-time, permanent position that requires onsite work at our client’s New Britain and Kensington, CT locations.

Responsibilities:

·        Recruitment & Onboarding:

o   Work with Hiring Managers to create job descriptions, sourcing, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and applicant selection to fill vacant positions

o   Partner with local leadership and develop community-based marketing initiatives for recruitment sourcing methods

o   Develop training and company culture onboarding schedule

o   Conduct New Hire Orientation & required documentation

·        HRIS Management:

o   Maintain security of all employee personnel documentation. Ensure employee data integrity

o   Provide accurate and updated data for reporting, metrics, and other data reporting programs and/or legal requirements

·        Payroll Support:

o   Input and review employee data (state/local taxes, banking information, benefit/payroll deductions, and paid time off (PTO) plans)

o   Execute and audit all company employee change actions including, but not limited to transfers, promotions, wage changes, pay adjustments, and termination in HRIS system

·        Benefits:

o   Responsible for employee healthcare benefits administration

o   Facilitate and coordinate employee benefits education and processes relating to 401K, Retirement/Enrollment, Tuition Assistance, FMLA, Leaves of Absence, Short/Long-Term Disability related paperwork

o   Coordinate employee recognition programs and engagement events

·        Compliance:

o   Partner with local and corporate leadership to maintain a compliant and updated employee handbook

o   Manage the execution of all annual compliance training

o   Oversee the business unit’s Safety Committee effectiveness in mitigating workplace injuries and illnesses, while ensuring the compliance to all federal and state OSHA laws and regulations

o   Ensure the completion of incident forms and submitting Workers Compensation claims

·        Offboarding/Post Employment:

o   Perform exit interview and ensure a smooth and positive employee transition

o   Respond to unemployment questionnaires and attend unemployment hearings

o   Partner with management to perform department/job analysis to capture any changes in strategy alignment or organizational fit

·        Performance Management/Training & Development:

o   With management, develop a streamlined, department specific performance appraisal system

o   Conduct investigations on employee relations matters. Coach and guide managers. Track all employee disciplinary actions

o   Monitor and support the employee engagement survey action item deliverables

o   Provide training and/or technical support on various HRIS systems, HR processes, and programs

·        Strategic Planning:

o   Partner with Leadership in the planning and implementation of the company’s HR strategic goals and initiatives

o   Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in all HR functions and recommend new ideas to promote continuous improvement

Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology, or related field

·        5-7 years of experience in a HR Generalist (senior-level) or HR Manager function, within a manufacturing and / or machining environment

·        Experience reporting directly into company leadership is preferred

·        Comfortable working in a smaller manufacturing environment

·        Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws

·        Some experience with HRIS/Payroll systems for data management, desired

·        Ability to exercise discretion, good judgment, confidentiality, and professionalism in dealing with all employment issues
