Job description

Director, HR Business Partner - Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville 

The Director Human Resources Business Partner role is a critical part of the HR Leadership Team at Nemours. Located in an established enterprise region, the position will lead the HR Business Partner(s) team to provide consultative support to clinical and nonclinical business leaders in that region. The position will have responsibility for coordinating other HR services to ensure delivery of high-quality results in a timely and consistent manner. The incumbent must have deep understanding of employment laws and regulations as she/he would be responsible for reviewing and updating people policies, managing complex employee relations cases, and providing guidance to leadership on all workforce related matters and strategies.

Essential Functions

  • Effectively leads other HR professionals by providing high-quality HR products/services to assigned geographic location.
  • Participates as an active member of the HR Leadership Team in the development of human capital strategies and approaches, to deliver high impact solutions to both Leaders and Associates.
  • Translates organizational strategies into appropriate HR strategic actions and solutions.
  • Guides staff toward the accomplishment of identified objectives by strategizing, developing, directing, empowering, and influencing.
  • Coordinates the design of HR processes and the delivery of HR products/services to meet strategic and tactical business needs.
  • Provides strategic leadership in the areas of organizational change, HR strategy development, recruitment methodologies, and appropriate service design.
  • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) on employee engagement, maintaining an active understanding of current thinking and programs related to employee retention and engagement strategies.
  • Facilitates the process of equipping leadership with the skills and tools to address most employee relations issues at the team level.
  • Develop and advocate the implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives to promote associate retention and engagement.
  • Ensures that employee relations matters are handled in a timely and effective manner.
  • Partners with leadership to proactively identify and address training and development needs for individual associates and business units.
  • Facilitates, mediates, coaches, guides, counsels, supports, educates, empowers and equips business leaders/Associates to make sound workforce decisions.
  • Collaborates on HR initiatives involving culture change issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (required), Master's Degree (preferred)
  • Preferred Certification(s): HRCI's Sr. Professional in HR (SPHR), and/or SHRM Sr. Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)
  • Experience: 6+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 4+ years as a HR Business Partner
