Job Overview

Marvin Composites in Salem, VA is hiring an Associate HR Business Partner. At Marvin Composites, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for an Associate HR Business Partner who is eager to make an impact where it matters most. In this role, you’ll partner closely with HR and site leaders to shape the employee experience, strengthen culture, and support the systems and processes that help our teams thrive.

You’ll be a great fit if you enjoy being visible on the manufacturing floor, building relationships, and balancing strategic support with day-to-day HR operations.

Schedule:

  • Standard Monday – Friday
  • Required evening support (2PM – 10PM, 1-2 days/week) to support and stay connected with night production teams
  • Flexible start times the following day to help support work–life balance
Highlights of your role
  • Lead the new‑hire experience by coordinating onboarding, HR orientation, and first‑day processes while partnering with leaders to set employees up for success
  • Support core HR operations across benefits, policy guidance, performance processes, recognition efforts, and HR communications
  • Assist leaders with people‑related matters, including performance issues, policy concerns, and conflict situations
  • Manage leave programs, including FMLA and related processes, with accuracy and attention to compliance
  • Champion workplace culture by coordinating events, recognition efforts, and stay/exit interviews
  • Keep HR operations moving smoothly by maintaining records, supporting time‑keeping needs, and ensuring key site documents and processes stay up to date
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, preferred
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience in a support HR role
  • Experience working in HR systems and the ability to learn new software
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work 1-2 evenings a week

  • Ability to work independently, work well with a team, and maintain confidentiality
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills are essential
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
