Controller

This position is a vital part of the accounting/finance department at the Company. The Controller will work directly with accounting staff at individual operating companies and oversee/assist in the preparation of internal financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, AR, A/P, General Ledger, Inventory, Revenue Recognition, Payroll, Fixed Assets, etc.
• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
• Oversees the production of monthly financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
• Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Assist with preparation of bank reporting package and board presentations.
• Research technical accounting issues as needed.
• Oversee accounting staff at individual locations.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

• CPA license required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Excellent management and supervisory skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
• Ten years or more of related experience required- exceptions made for public accounting experience.
• Public Accounting experience preferred. Construction accounting experience preferred.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Able to travel as needed.
