Production Engineering Project Lead

PLEASE NOTE: This position is located "onsite" in Connecticut and will require to work onsite. Relocation Assistance will be considered.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for leading production engineering to support development engineers to converge on an overall design solution that addresses comprehensive production manufacturability with high level of diagnostics for troubleshooting.
- Develop Manufacturing readiness plans to introduce new products into Production. These plans include timelines and key milestones for proto readiness and ramp to pilot and volume.
- Develop budgetary needs for facilities, capital equipment and headcount.
- Communicate Manufacturing readiness plans to Business Line and Management.
- Responsible for leading production engineering group developing and maintaining module manufacturing processes.
- Responsible for leading production engineering group investigating technical issues both analytically using design documentation and physically with hands-on in a production environment.
- Responsible for leading production engineering group supporting operations to deliver modules on time that meet high standards of quality.
- Report production status, issues, gaps and barriers to Sr. Management. Timely escalate in case of issue that can’t be solved within the own circle of influence.
- Drive cross-sector teams to achieve high standards of quality for both product and tooling.
Education:
- Minimum BS in Engineering (MS or MBA preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Needs to qualify for export license.
Experience needed:
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing manufacturing processes for new products, including at least 3 years leading a group or a major project.
- Exp. With ERP systems like SAP are a plus
- Experience in developing Manufacturing readiness plans to introduce new products into Production.
- Experience in leading cross-sector teams to implement Manufacturing readiness plans for new product industrialization.
- Experience in developing budgetary needs for facilities, capital equipment and headcount.
- Experience in managing new product introduction and industrialization.
- Background in optical metrology engineering is preferred.
- Background in opto-mechanical metrology equipment/interface to data acquisition is preferred.
