POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Manager plans, organizes and directs the activities of the assigned program area according to MIKID strategic plan, funding requirements and in accordance with regulatory standards. Provides supervision of direct care staff, including family support, respite and living skills providers in all aspects of their jobs. May also provide direct services. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with various public, private and governmental agencies. The Program Manager will work to increase and improve parental participation in treatment planning through education of families and service providers as it relates to respite. The Program Manager will also be responsible for linking families to community resources and advocating ensuring that the needs of these families are met.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Develops and maintains family support and youth services in the assigned area to meet community and contractual needs.

· Build partnerships with clinics and families.

· Recruits and trains qualified individuals for available Family Support, Direct Service Provider and Receptionist positions.

· Responsible for providing information and referral assistance to families.

· Coordinates with Referral Coordinator with new referrals and updates.

· Assigns referrals for youth services in a timely manner.

· Obtain and maintain client files with needed documentation to keep files current.

· Collects paperwork regarding referrals, service delivery and payroll processing.

· Supervises staff in their provision of youth and family services, progress notes, end of the month paperwork and deadlines.

· Completes supervisions as required in the AZ Rules and/or as needed or requested by staff.

· Reviews and approves progress notes and monthly summaries for family support and direct service providers by the agency deadlines.

· Develops, maintains and disseminates current information about the community’s available services.

· Responsible for participating in a family’s child and family team process, as appropriate.

· Responsible for one-on-one advocacy with individuals and families with appropriate agencies.

· Responsible for the establishment, growth and maintenance of local groups and local education/information workshops.

· Maintain contact with families receiving family support and respite services.

· Refers crisis situations and problems to the appropriate service provider agency with follow-up, as appropriate.

· Reviews and approves timecards and mileage for family support, direct service providers and receptionists by the agency deadline.

· Other duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Working knowledge of Microsoft products.

· Knowledge of youth guided family driven care.

· Extensive knowledge of behavioral health agency policies and procedures.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality in dealing with issues of a sensitive nature.

· Current CPR and 1st Aid Certification.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High School degree or equivalent.

· Bachelor's degree preferred and/or (8) years' experience in behavioral health.

· Experience supporting youth and young adults in behavioral health system.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Current DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

· Must be able to travel throughout Arizona as needed.

· Occasionally moves about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc.

· Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as copy machine and printer.

· Frequently ascends/descends stairs to visit other offices or attend meetings.

· Occasionally positions self to reach desk drawers, file cabinets, etc.

Frequently communicates with internal and external constituents related to transition topics, youth involvement and education.
