About the Team
The Austin Studio is responsible for the development of entertaining land-based slot machines. The studio is part of Bluberi's R&D department, which includes other development teams in the US and Canada. Our game development team is comprised of enthusiastic and experienced professionals across multiple disciplines including mathematics, visual arts, software engineering, game design, audio engineering and quality assurance. We work in a hybrid model to ensure effective iteration of creative content on target hardware while providing personal flexibility and work efficiency.
Essential Functions
- Develop entertaining gaming experiences
- With minimal supervision, implement content and script game features to make captivating gaming experiences.
- Assist in defining functional requirements, identifying dependencies and creating scoping assessments for product designs.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for Unity-based games.
- Independently debug and fix issues identified by QA or internal testing teams with minimal support from colleagues.
- Participate in code reviews.
Required education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant experience in lieu
- 3+ years programming experience.
- Demonstrated experience with C# and Unity.
- Significant experience with integrated development environments (IDEs) like Visual Studio.
- Competent with version control systems, such as Git and SVN.
- Basic understanding of the casino gaming industry and regulatory requirements.
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Can modulate information to different development domains.
- Good people skills. Works well with creative conflict in a consensus-based, collaborative environment.
- Shows dedication to continuous learning and contributes to improving the studio and organization. Spends regular time on self-improvement that provides value to the organization.
Preferred education and experience
- Basic understanding of C++ and C for tool and engine support preferred.
- Demonstrates Bluberi values around teamwork, ownership and transparency.
- Exposure to video game or slot development preferred.
- Good organizational skills and can manage work across multiple projects at a time. Shows attention to detail and quickly absorbs and recalls new information.
- Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
