Position Title: Technical Director

Reports To: Creative Director / IT

Position Held By: TBD

Hours Per Week: 35 Hours + Services (35 M-Sat, 5 Sun)


Summary of Position

The TD is directly responsible for all aspects of technically producing FFC services, conferences and other events at FFC and offsite locations. He is also directly responsible for building & maintaining the Dream Team and equipment needed to support all events of Faith Family Church.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all audio, video and lighting elements for all services and events at FFC Central and Portable Campuses with a primary focus on lighting and design. 
  • Serve as primary leader for audio, video and lighting systems and equipment including: setting up and operating equipment for services and events; updating hardware, software, and equipment firmware; helping regularly clean and maintain projectors and other equipment; and loading and programming content for services and events
  • Serve as leader of all aspects of campus production Dream Team (“DT”), including recruitment, training, scheduling, ministry relations, leadership development, appreciations, social events, and team database management.
  • Work closely with directors of audio, video and lighting to ensure that operational protocol is being closely followed when operating equipment, performing maintenance, and training dream teamers.
  • Organize, schedule, and attend regular training sessions for potential DT.
  • Oversee a system of leadership development to cultivate and train potential production DT leaders in FFC.
  • Maintain a schedule of campus events to ensure that all production needs are met and events are staffed with appropriate production personnel.
  • Travel to extension campuses as needed to attend meetings, observe services or assist with service production, equipment management, and training.
  • Ensure all production team members are on the schedule. (lighting, media, sound, cameras)
  • Ensure the production team is adequately staffed weekly. Be a team builder!
  • Lead all Huddle Meetings for the production team weekly.
  • Ensure all production equipment is set up before service and stored following service.
  • Coordinate production team training / meeting / fellowship quarterly. 
  • Report any challenges to the Creative Director.
  • Submit all work orders / repairs to the Creative Director.


3-5 years of experience in the following areas:

  • Professional performance/touring/large venue format as lead FOH engineer/technical director/production manager.
  • Engineering and troubleshooting DMX lighting.
  • Overseeing camera operations in a live, multi-camera environment for IMAG.
  • Internet based live stream broadcast production.

Important skills/personal traits:

  • Detailed knowledge of digital and analog audio systems and networks as well as large-format digital consoles. (Dante, CL5, DM7 etc.)
  • Detailed knowledge of hardware and software broadcast video environments, switchers with multiple camera processing, keyed computer graphics, and presentation software.(ProPresenter, Ross, Resi, Black Magic, Extron etc.)
  • Detailed knowledge of projectors, LED screens, displays and video transmission. (Q-lab, Novastar, SVSI, etc.)
  • Detailed knowledge of intelligent, theatrical, LED, and DMX processing of lighting. (GrandMA, sACN, ArtNET, Resolume, CueServer, Extron, ETC etc.)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move up and down stairs and ladders on a regular basis.

  • Provide visionary leadership to the following Sunday AM teams:
    • Production Team
  • Schedules
    • Responsible for ensuring that all team members under your oversight are on a monthly schedule, serving regularly, and fulfilling their God-given potential.
    • All teams are following the meetings guidelines adopted in 2022
  • Communication
    • Responsible for communicating weekly with your team leaders under your oversight and that your team leaders are communicating weekly with their teams.
      1. Follow communications strategies adopted in 2022
    • All Team messaging goes through the Church Center app


  • Care & Connection

  • Weekly Care: Responsible for spending 2-4 hours a week caring for and connecting with the people of FFC through phone calls, meetings, and emails.
  • Crisis Care: Responsible for responding to any team member under your oversight that is facing a crisis care situation such as a death in the family, funeral, hospitalization, or offense
  •  Small Group
    • Enthusiastically lead a small group in each of the 3 small group semesters.
    • Help recruit and launch 5 small groups in the Spring/Fall semester.
  •  Dream Team
  • Connection: Responsible for assisting new Dream Team members under your oversight find their place within the Dream Team culture.
  • Fellowships / Training:  Ensure that all teams under your oversight are having 2 fellowships per year and 2 pieces of training per year. (once per quarter)
  • Leaders: Responsible for ensuring all teams are being led by an approved leader.
  • Schedules: Responsible for ensuring that all team members under your oversight are on a monthly schedule, serving regularly, and fulfilling their God-given potential.
  • Communication: Responsible for communicating weekly with your team leaders under your oversight and that your team leaders are communicating weekly with their teams.


Keys to Success:  How can I succeed in this position?

  • Have the required knowledge:
    • Working knowledge of computers and basic computer programs, such as: Planning Center, Monday.com, Google Suite, Expensify, Bamboo HR, Mailchimp, and Clearstream
