Logan Simpson is an award-winning, multidisciplinary consulting firm that specializes in environmental consulting, cultural resource management, community planning, and landscape architecture design services. Logan Simpson is currently seeking full-time or part-time Temporary Archaeological Interns to join our Salt Lake City, UT cultural resources team. This is a paid internship ranging from $18 - $20 per hour depending on experience. This position will have flexibility to work in the Salt Lake City office or out in the field, depending on availability of projects. A minimum of 160 hours is required.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with archaeological office tasks as available, that include, but are not limited to, data management, basic background research, data entry, preparation of site forms, and other similar tasks.
  • Assist with archaeological inventory projects as available.
  • Complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Interact and work well as a team member.
  • Perform duties as assigned commensurate to the level of education and experience.


Position Requires:
  • Current enrollment in a college or university in pursuit of an Anthropology or Archaeology degree.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge and appreciation of history, culture, and environment.
  • Sensitivity when participating in field site visits to Native American Cultural and Sacred places.
  • Ability to follow direction of supervisors and show up to work on time.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, walk, stand, climb, lift a minimum of 25 lbs., and occasionally withstand physically challenging environmental conditions (e.g., extreme temperatures, and walking over steep, rocky, uneven terrain).
  • Provide your own work gear, minimally: backpack, water container, clip board, pencil, measuring tape, and compass.
