Senior Accountant - Temporary

Location: Hybrid โ€“ U.S. Based

Overview:

A rapidly expanding international company specializing in premium travel and hospitality experiences is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team. The organization operates a network of customer experience and hospitality locations across major airports in the U.S., U.K., and Middle East. Its mission is to enhance the traveler journey through innovative amenities such as comfortable lounges, digital convenience services, and guest-focused partnerships.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a fast-growing global business while contributing to the companyโ€™s financial operations and reporting accuracy.


Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will support general accounting and financial processes across multiple business entities. The position requires a high level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail, ensuring that accounting principles are applied consistently and that all financial information is reported accurately and on time.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounting transactions in accordance with company policy and reporting requirements to support the ongoing management of the business.
  • Record and report monthly point-of-sale (POS) revenue and associated transaction fees.
  • Post transactions to the general ledger and ensure accurate categorization for accounting and management reporting purposes.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly sales reports for sales tax filings; manage property tax filings for all U.S. business locations.
  • Maintain and update invoice databases that track business revenue and expenses, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reconcile and monitor bank balances to support cash flow forecasting and operational cash requirements.
  • Perform month-end, quarterly, and year-end close activities, meeting internal and external reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare periodic management reports and ad hoc analyses on financial performance and accounting matters.
  • Support annual and quarterly audits by preparing supporting documentation, reconciliations, and calculations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address financial inquiries and provide clarity on accounting matters.
  • Maintain stewardship over the balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects and financial analyses.


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, or in a similar accounting role.
  • Associate or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures, including cash management, reporting, forecasting, and audit support.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • High level of integrity and respect for confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Strong math and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency with accounting software systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and results-oriented professional with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
