Job Description

SUMMARY

The IT Administrator is responsible for managing all Microsoft server-based systems, Desktops, Laptops and handheld devices in our corporate environment. The IT Administrator is responsible for ensuring equipment meets our enterprise security requirements, supporting firm-wide data backup and recovery, and providing technical assistance to all users as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze Mckinney network and system capabilities regularly.
  • Perform network analysis and capacity planning and testing for LAN/WAN environment.
  • Develop and recommend strategies for network growth, security, and enhancements by maximizing functionality of network equipment such as routers, bridges, gateways, switches, concentrators, and hubs.
  • Interface with vendors and suppliers to ensure adequate delivery and maintenance of equipment and services.
  • Maintain/Update/Upgrade/Implement Active Directory.
  • Maintain/Update/Upgrade/Implement Security (WAN, LAN and Communications).
  • Acts as the “Help Desk” for all users of company technology including computers, network, and cell phones.
  • Assist in the creation of processes and procedures for network operations.
  • Maintain library of associated materials for all equipment, processes, and procedures.
  • Design, install, and test network to support Internet and other data transport channels.
  • Support installation and maintenance of PC/Server hardware and software.
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance of all data center equipment.
  • Provide network performance monitoring and analysis.
  • Analyze and evaluate LAN changes, additions and reconfigurations.
  • Contribute to development and administration of network backup and recovery plan to maintain LAN network systems operation.
  • Identify and correct faults and provide resolution of complex problem tickets escalated from the help desk.
  • Confer with management to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements.
  • Review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
  • Study existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develop new systems to improve production or workflow as required.
  • Prepare workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed by personnel in system.
  • Conduct studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs.
  • Plan and prepare technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development.
  • Upgrade system and correct errors to maintain system after implementation
  • Prepare time and cost estimates for completing projects.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree (B. A.) from a four-year College and two years related experience

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Microsoft Operating Systems, Windows 7 and Windows 10.
  • Windows Server 2003 R2 & Windows Server 2008 R2, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and 2016.
  • Microsoft Web Server, IIS and misc. software.
  • Familiarity with common computer and technology hardware, and ability to configure and troubleshoot same (workstations, tablets, phones, printers, servers, etc.)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
