The Senior Network Engineer, who reports directly to the Head of IP/Core Engineering, should be a skilled and seasoned Broadband Network Engineer bringing in-depth knowledge of Service Provider design and delivery.  The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and optimization of the Broadband network based across different geographical locations and vendor equipment.  This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects and attribute to the future goals, objectives and design for the next generation network.   

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design scalable and reliable broadband networks based on various vendors equipment. 
  • Develop network architecture, IP address schemes to meet performance, capacity and reliability requirements of the broadband provider network. 
  • Configure, deploy and integrate network equipment from L2/L3 switches, core/edge/aggregation routers, firewalls and other transport related equipment in accordance with industry standards and best practices. 
  • Perform continuous monitoring, optimization and troubleshooting of broadband networks to maximize performance, network efficiency and reliability by resolving issues and security vulnerabilities in a timely fashion. 
  • Collaborate with vendors and tenants to troubleshoot complex network issues to resolution and provide Root Cause Analysis to reduce possible impacts in the future. 
  • Document network designs, configurations and method of procedures to reduce reliance on the OEM support. 
  • Creating a sense of ownership for the network, our customers and our business partners. 
  • Perform special projects as required as it relates to acquisitions and/or migrations of services. 

 

Who You Are: 

  • Broadband engineer with knowledge of various network equipment and transport equipment. 
  • Strong people skills and quick response time to problems. 
  • Strong understanding of network design and implementation across a geo-diverse network/company footprint. 
  • Ability to work cross functionally with multiple teams to support the needs/requirements of all teams both internal and external. 

Job Requirements: 

  • Strong expertise working with Fortinet, Nokia, Juniper, Ribbon or Cisco etc. and fiber transport hardware. 
  • Expert-level understanding of transport networking, routing and switching at scale. 
  • Sound understanding of the following technologies: Ethernet (1q VLANs, QinQ), IP Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP)IPv4/v6, OSPF, BGP, STP, GRE, IS-IS, MPLS, EVPN, L2VPN, L3VPN and CG-NAT. 
  • Good Linux/UNIX skills and knowledge of scripting or programming languages (bash, perl, python). 
  • Industry certifications such as Nokia SRA, CCND, CCNP etc. 
  • Ability to analyze business processes and create data-driven recommendations for continued improvement. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills. 
  • Exhibit strategic thinking capabilities, with abilities to juggle multiple goals and deadlines in the context of the big picture. 
  • Ability to learn new technologies and work in a fast-paced team environment.
