POSITION SUMMARY:

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of the company to ensure maximum uptime for users. The role includes Server administration, designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of new networks, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain computer networks including servers, virtual servers, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware. Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.

• Install and configure network equipment.

• Develop and improve network system to make it function reliably.

• Write specifications for wireless network topology.

• Write specifications for routers and switches used in the network.

• Analyze and recommend methods for improving and correcting the network.

• Deploy and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, virus protection, no-trust architectures, email gateways and identity management solutions (IAM).

• Perform administration tasks for our server environment.

• Maximize performance by monitoring and troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades.

• Troubleshoot, resolve and communicate networking issues to other employees and management.

• Maintain both on-premises and cloud infrastructures.

• Implement disaster recovery procedures.

• Maintain current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems

• Other duties as assigned.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Strong Understanding of network connectivity including SD-WAN and MPLS

• Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP, FTP, etc.)

• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools

• Experience with Windows Server Administration and VMware.
