Job Title: Full Charge Bookkeeper
Position Overview:
We are seeking an Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for bookkeeping, meticulous attention to detail, and a drive to contribute to the success of a growing restaurant group, including 7 restaurant units. Candidate should have some previous experience in a full charge bookkeeping capacity for a restaurant unit, restaurant group or hospitality venue. Additionally, Candidate must be proficient at Quickbooks and have an exceptional level of skill with the application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial transactions across multiple restaurant units.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, monthly reports, and variance analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Payroll Processing: Support payroll activities, including timekeeping, payroll processing, and ensuring compliance with wage and hour regulations.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in tax preparation, including sales tax, payroll tax, and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal tax laws.
- Inventory Management: Collaborate with restaurant managers to reconcile inventory records and support inventory control processes.
- Assist in Audits: Provide necessary documentation and support for internal and external audits as required.
- Cost Control Analysis: Assist in analyzing cost trends, identifying areas for cost-saving measures, and implementing strategies to optimize expenses across restaurants.
- Financial Forecasting: Support financial forecasting and budgeting processes for individual restaurant units.
- Other Administrative Duties: Support the leadership team with miscellaneous administrative and office projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; relevant coursework or certifications a plus.
- Prior experience (3+ years) in accounting/bookkeeping roles, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Understanding of GAAP and basic knowledge of financial reporting and tax compliance.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with restaurant managers and finance team members effectively.
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles and inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with POS systems and their integration with accounting software.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
