Job description

We are seeking an accountant to join our diverse Small Business Department. This position works closely with our growing Name, Image & Likeness (NIL) practice, providing bookkeeping and payroll services for student-athletes and their S-Corporations, while also serving a variety of small business clients.

Responsibilities:

The accountant will be responsible for various bookkeeping duties for multiple clients , including small businesses and NIL athlete S-Corporations. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate accounting records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining bookkeeping and accounting records for assigned clients

  • Recording general journal entries

  • Reconciling cash and bank accounts

  • Processing accounts payable and bill payments

  • Preparing monthly account reconciliations

  • Preparing compiled financial statements

  • This position will also manage payroll for multiple clients, including many NIL athlete S-Corporations. Payroll responsibilities include:

  • Processing payroll

  • Preparing payroll tax deposits

  • Preparing and filing payroll tax returns

  • Additional responsibilities throughout the year include:

  • Sales tax return preparation

  • Business license preparation

  • Personal property tax returns

  • 1099 preparation

  • QuickBooks training and support for clients

  • Year-end financial cleanup for tax return preparation

  • Assisting NIL athletes with the bookkeeping and payroll needs of their S-Corporations while ensuring accurate financial records and compliance

Flexible Work Schedule:

  • This job does not have the typical public accounting hours. We work 50 hours per week during January, 45 hours per week during February, 40 hours per week during March through April 15. The remainder of the year is 37.5 hours per week.

  • Option to leave at 12 on Fridays when hours have been reached

  • Option to work some of the hours remotely after 6 months of training

  • Flexible schedule throughout the week

Qualifications:

  • Experience processing payroll and payroll tax returns

  • Experience reconciling bank accounts

  • Experience preparing monthly financial statements

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines

  • Public accounting experience preferred
