Director of Career Services

We are currently looking for an experienced individual to join our team as a Director of Career Services. The Director of Career Service is responsible for leading university-wide efforts to engage all AGMU students, alumni, and employer partners in promoting career and employment success on all US campuses and US Online.

AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop a strategic plan with services and programs that support students from first semester freshmen to graduate students in career planning, internships, job search strategies, and post-graduation employment decisions on all US campuses and US Online.
• Advise students and alumni in career planning, experiential learning, and job search strategies.
• Identify and strengthen the inter-dependencies between Career Services functions and other functional areas including Academic Affairs, Retention, campus-based student engagement, Administration/Operations, and Business Intelligence.
• Strategize partnerships with employers aligned to AGMU academic programs and regional labor market needs.
• Plan and execute in-person and virtual workshops, programs, content, and digital resources to support career exploration, networking, interviewing, and job & internship search strategies.
• Plan and deliver in-person and virtual career events to connect students, alumni, and employers.
• Collaborate with AGMU faculty to offer tailored classroom presentations and coordinate outside speakers.
• Collect and analyze occupational, educational, and economic information and continuously seek feedback from employers regarding job trends and skill needs.
• Act as a liaison with the area business communities by representing the university at career fairs, networking events, and professional workshops.
• Work with the designated department to maintain all necessary graduate documentation including verifications and waivers and for reporting graduate employment statistics to designated entities.
• Pursue professional development opportunities that support career development's connection to holistic student support, retention, completion, and student success.
• Participate as a team member in orientation, graduation, committees, workgroups, and all required university activities.
• Ensure that all established performance goals are achieved. Submit all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Participate in scheduled travel to all US campuses.

REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s degree in human resources or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Three (3) years of professional experience in higher education career services, employer relations, experiential learning, or directly related area required.
• Knowledge in building resumes with the requirement of the industry including AI (Artificial Intelligent) software’s.
• Knowledge of high impact strategies that promote student and alumni career development, experiential learning, and job placement.
• Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
• Ability to analyze data, interpret results and make recommendations.
• Highly organized and able to prioritize in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Commitment to building programs that support equity, inclusion, and diversity.
• Strong leadership skills and communication skills.
• Results and customer service oriented.
• Computer competency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to express both, verbal and written, fluently in English and Spanish.
