General Manager (Engineered Construction)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Manager to join a growing Engineered Construction firm. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing and construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients.

The General Manager leads a team of professionals, including project managers, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and support staff, to deliver high-quality construction projects that meet or exceed industry standards. Your role will involve strategic planning, resource allocation, financial management, and leadership to drive the success of the manufacturing and construction business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and construction management, and possess excellent project management skills. Experience leading engineering, manufacturing and construction teams is highly desired. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior management to align construction activities with overall company goals and objectives
- Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects from inception to completion
- Monitor project progress, budget, and quality, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure successful project delivery
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to optimize resource utilization and maintain project timelines
- Develop project budgets and forecasts, ensuring adherence to financial targets and profitability goals
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement development plans to enhance team capabilities
- Retain, recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team
- Review and approve project expenditures, change orders, and invoices to control costs and maximize project profitability
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives and growth targets

Required Skills:
- Strong experience in engineered construction products
- Proficiency in using ERP or WMS systems
- Experience leading an engineering team
- Previous P & L responsibility
- Ability to leverage talent and resource allocation
- Proven record of project management
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to develop and execute strategic plans, manage budgets, and drive profitability
- Experience in pre-engineered steel building or related products is preferred
