Position Overview
The Associate role will be responsible for a full range of development tasks across a broad portfolio of assets. This role will work closely with VP of Transactions to coordinate due diligence, review contracts and reports, construct pro forma models, and assist in asset management throughout the development life cycle. The Associate position will also be responsible for maintaining and presenting pertinent information in various databases for the team. The Associate will report to the VP of Accounting & Finance.
Functions of Position
Tasks and Duties to include:
- Manage project-specific due diligence tasks throughout initial property acquisition duration, including review of historical documents, current operations, new title and survey review, environmental assessments, geotechnical exploration, traffic impact studies, market analysis, and various other feasibility studies.
- Construct and develop pro forma models of monthly cash flows, project budgets, capital outlay forecasts, and other financial KPIs
- Work with accounting and development team to prepare monthly capital requests and development update report packages for internal and external partners
- Maintain central database of all active and delivered developments to highlight status, major milestones, project schedules, timelines, financial metrics, and other development specific KPIs
- Coordinate with escrow teams and title companies to efficiently manage transactions in the acquisition and disposition stages.
- Assist legal counsel with various contract related tasks, including background research, document and exhibit preparation, and execution. Common documents may include Letter of Intents, Purchase and Sale Agreements, Operating Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Development Management Agreements, acquisition/disposition Closing Documents, etc.
- Coordinate with institutional capital partners, banking organizations, brokerage and marketing teams involved in different stages of the development process. This includes managing cloud-based document sharing platforms that are maintained regularly with up-to-date project information.
- Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and ability to create solutions to various unique development challenges regularly. This includes efficiently prioritizing tasks to meet the needs and deadlines of other team members and various outside partners.

- Must hold bachelor degree in real estate, legal studies, project management, or finance. Master degree or advanced degree preferred
- Experience in commercial real estate and development preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, CoStar, Argus
- Ability to multitask and preference for a fast paced environment
