SALARY: Based on VCPS Certificated Salary Schedule
Job Purpose Statement: The job of the Intervention Coordinator is to provide ongoing support to the elementary school, middle school, and high school in the areas of academic support and positive behavior support. The Intervention Coordinator will work directly with the site principal, assistant principals, and grade level or content area teachers to collaboratively identify areas of instructional need for students based on current
achievement data and to target specific interventions to meet those needs. The coordinator will also work in conjunction with the Special Education Coordinator in identifying intervention needs and support the MTSS model present at Vista Global Academies.
Line of Authority: The Intervention Coordinator will report and be evaluated by the site Principal.
Essential Job Functions (duties listed are typical but not exclusive):
● Advises students, parents, and guardians for the purpose of providing information on student's progress and/or recommendations regarding academic achievement;
● Collaborates on a regular basis with grade level and content area teachers, instructional coaches, counselors, and administration regarding intervention strategies and support programs leading to student success;
● Monitors student records for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding students’ goals
● Serves as a knowledge base of a wide range of available supports and interventions and attends all academic SST meetings as an intervention expert.
● Prepares documentation (e.g. observations, progress, contacts with parents, teachers, outside professionals, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support, developing recommendations, and/or conveying information to teachers in reference to academic achievement.
● Facilitates the SST and 504 meetings.
● With the support of School Psychologist, manages 504 caseload and meetings (Initials and annuals)
● Participates in job-related activities such as faculty meetings, professional development, in-services, site, and district committees, and commits to ongoing professional growth for self and others.
● LEA Testing and Site Coordinator for ELPAC, CAASPP, CAST, and CPFT.
Essential Job Requirements - Qualifications:
● Skills to communicate effectively, problem-solve.
● Knowledge of curriculum, education code, district policies, problem solving methodology.
● Ability to sit for prolonged periods, maintain and verify completeness of records, meet schedules and deadlines, communicate with persons of varied cultural and educational backgrounds, communicate in oral and written form.
Desirable:
● English Learner and at-risk student support experience.
● Desire to accept feedback and develop professionally.
● Ability to identify and implement needed change.
● Capacity to successfully function in stressful circumstances.
● Maintain confidentiality.
Licenses, certifications, bonding, and/or testing required: Criminal justice fingerprint clearance, appropriate credential
