Position:Instructional Designer

Pay: $28.85/hour

Parking: has to pay for parking

Contract: 3—6 months

PositionSummary:

Well-known University is currently seeking a Temporary Instructional Designer to support the design ofinstructional content for staff and leaders across the university using provenlearning strategies. This position works with the talent development team andother content developers to create resources and learning offerings, includingvideos, eLearning modules, and other applications that will be administeredthrough the university’s learning management system (LMS). This temporaryassignment is expected to be for approximately three months, with thepossibility of being extended up to six months. This position is offered as a hybridrole.

MinimumRequirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, adult education, learning science, or related discipline inclusive of instructional design principles.
  • Two or more years of related experience (e.g. – demonstrated experience designing and developing for various modalities and formats, including digital, virtual, classroom, blended, simulation, social/collaborative, infographics, and supporting guides with prior knowledge of designing interactive learning interventions and performance support tools and creating detailed storyboards)

Skills:
  • Proficiency in designing courses tailored to various learning styles and preferences.
  • Excellent organizational, communications, relationship, and project management skills; ability to meet tight deadlines, manage heavy workloads and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills

Preferences:
  • Minimum five years of recent Learning & Development experience preferred; preferably in instructional design or learning asset materials development.

EssentialFunctions:
  • Utilize instructional design, adult learning principles, and innovative strategies in the conception, design, and development of learning assets.
  • Collaborate with team members and subject matter professionals on course design and development to translate operational content into learner-centered experiences, as well as
  • apply fundamental research skills to instructional design projects.
  • Review learning experiences against outlined training objectives, university branding standards, and other requirements.
  • Analyze training products to see that they reflect an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners.
  • Design and create a variety of materials utilizing desktop publishing software and AICC/SCORM-compliant authoring tools.
  • Facilitate design and development workshops with stakeholders and project teams.
  • Review content developed by others and provided guidance and instructional design assistance to non-institutional designers.
  • Design content for multiple modes of delivery, including instructor-led training and mobile learning.
  • Develop engaging content that incorporates AI-driven personalized learning pathways, integrating microlearning modules for efficient knowledge retention and designing interactive activities that simulate real-world scenarios.
