Job Description

Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and seeking an opportunity to work in a challenging environment where you can learn new skills and advance your career? We are seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our growing team here at Skinner Accident & Injury Lawyers.

In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations by assisting with bookkeeping tasks and data entry. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in accounting within a dynamic legal environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank statements.

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions including processing invoices, issuing payments, and following up on outstanding balances.

  • Conduct data entry tasks accurately and efficiently to ensure the integrity of financial records.

  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements as needed.

  • Collaborate with other members of the accounting team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to established internal controls.

  • Coordinate and maintain the office spaces.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks is a plus.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Prior experience in bookkeeping or accounting is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
