Demand Planning Analyst

Job Summary:

The Demand Planning Analyst will own the forecasting activities associated with Lab Supply Inventory and will provide recommendations and support to the Supply Chain Team. This role will require strong analytical and reasoning skills to extract and interpret data provided by the sales team, the CDC, vendors, and other industry resources, and to create tools to simplify and automate the planning process. Additionally, this role will require strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration, effective knowledge sharing and trust. The Demand Planning Analyst will play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate inventory projections that will drive improvements in costs and quality of service to customers.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

• Develop and maintain an accurate inventory demand model.
• Create and sustain quality tools and reporting mechanisms for Supply Chain management.
• Foster positive day-to-day relationships with internal and external business partners.
• Maintain accurate data across multiple applications and data sources. Data mine various applications and databases to compare and reconcile discrepancies.
• Create informational MS-Excel graphs from raw data, create formulas to analyze data, create pivot tables, create v-lookups, etc.
• Create and monitor Key Performance Indicators related to inventory levels to inspect opportunities for data and forecasting improvements.
• Continually review and scrub data ensuring that various internal and external databases/systems are accurate and aligned.
• Participate in and contribute to department projects led by others.
• Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, and evaluate forecast results and identify areas of improvement.
• Incorporate business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, CDC, and other industry resources to determine seasonality trends and potential spikes.
• Utilize Redshift tables to build PostgreSQL queries and Tableau reporting.

Qualifications:

Education –

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or business. Master’s degree preferred.

Competencies/Skills –

• Effective analytical and data skills
• Ability to review and determine root cause of repeating and singular fail issues
• Skilled in MS Office, including Excel (creating formulas, graphs of various configurations with dual scales, pivot tables, index-match, etc.), PowerPoint, and Visio (process flow maps, etc.)
• Proficient in Tableau and PostgreSQL
• Strong interpersonal skills

Experience –

• 2+ years’ experience with Data Analytics at scale
• Previous experience developing automated data reports
• Demonstrated track record of self-driven problem solving of large-scale ambiguous problems
