This role is responsible for the smooth development and introduction of new products for Particle Dynamics. Sitting on the PPIC (Product and Process Innovation Center) team, this person will be responsible for the technical coordination of opportunities and projects through project management techniques. This includes technical proposals, timelines, customer interface, and coordination of internal activities. This role will also perform product development and/or analytical testing activities as assigned for VP of Technical Operations.

Responsibility:
  • Coordinate the development of products from lead to commercial stages using project management tools and collaborative coordination of resources.
  • Be the technical liaison between the internal organization and the customer throughout the duration of new product development activities.
  • Engage in feasibility and idea generation discussions to provide customers solutions regarding their products and challenges.
  • Support commercial group to develop business case and costs for new products
  • Write technical and development timeline portions of customer proposals.
  • Project coordination:
    • Create development project timelines.
    • Schedule and chair routine coordination meetings with external customers and internal functions.
    • Work with 3rd party suppliers to conceive, develop, prototype, and approve externally executed steps in the development of products.
    • Gain approvals for prototypes from customers.
    • Escalate threats to scope, schedule, and budget with appropriate teams for resolution.
    • Manage the handover of products from development stages to routine commercial production.
    • Solicit feedback and use it to improve the new product development process.
  • Product Development:
  • Conduct formulation and process development activities from early-stage development to full scale production.
  • Develop and/or perform analytical testing as needed for product development or production support.
  • Design and execute stability protocols for new products in development as required.
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate the processes of risk analysis, quality-by-design, process development, method development, process scale-up and optimization, and technical transfer activities for new products to ensure they meet expected requirements for quality, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Write manufacturing batch records, experimental protocols and reports, process development reports, product and process assessments, technical transfer reports, test methods, SOP's and other documents, as required by management.
  • Provide input and technical assistance to operations, and quality assurance, with respect to the validation and launch of new and reformulated products.
  • Lead and/or participate in method development, process scale-up, optimization, and technology transfer activities.
  • Assist Supply Chain function in selecting and qualifying new raw materials.

Education/Experience:
  • BS in science/technical degree (Engineering, Chemistry, etc.)
  • 5+ years' experience in product or lab method development
  • Experience in pharma or nutraceutical product development
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in analytical testing and method development for OD and API products
  • 5 years' experience plant operations plus 5 years' experience in project management
  • Capable in Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project
  • Certification in Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma a plus
