Position Summary Under the direction of the Director of Communications and working across the organization, supporting the strategic development and execution of primarily internal communications while also providing support for external communications and public relations, as needed. Efforts will focus on content development, including writing and copy editing, and execution of communications for internal audiences, while supporting the broader communications needs of our team and the organization. This position will be expected to consistently abide by GBFB’s brand, desired positioning, tone, and messaging.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Director of Communications on oversight, development, and ongoing maintenance of SharePoint Homebase. Ensure content integration, cross promotion across all internal communications channels and assist with the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of a new web poll on either Homebase or the All-Team Group Chat.
  • Create and write content for the monthly employee newsletter and monthly internal digital display screens to inform, inspire and engage all Team Members, as well as all digital displays in the building.
  • Support internal communications efforts as needed on a day-to-day basis including Team meeting support, memo writing, various announcements, and collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Support Director of Communications to leverage and explore current and new technology to achieve increased communications across the organization.
  • Assist the Director of Communications with the execution of the Quarterly Town Hall all-team meetings, as well as any other all-team meetings as needed.
  • Support content planning across functions and provide support on all communications-related projects with an internal communications lens, including social media.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across GBFB to help translate business strategies, promote teams and employees, and highlight projects and initiatives into effective communications.
  • Work with the Director of Communications on the execution of growing Internal Communications program that supports a hybrid and evolving workforce and fosters a collaborative, employee, and value centric culture.
  • Assist and support the successful rollout, execution, and adoption of new and existing messaging internally.
  • As a member of the GBFB CARE committee, a cross-organizational internal culture team, engage this group to help drive content, add the ‘employee voice’ to our DEI journey and spark engagement on our GreaterTogether All Team Chat.
  • Work with the Director of Communications and Human Resources on content strategy to enhance cadence of content and regular engagement within the Supervisors Group Chat and GreaterTogether All Team Chat.
  • Provide administrative support and follow-up for the Speakers’ bureau, working with Assistant Director of Public Relations on coordinating opportunities for internal staff.
  • Provide onsite support to the Assistant Director of Public Relations for media and special visits to GBFB.
  • Work closely with Communications Manager on content development and management.
  • Maintain and update the Marketing, Communications, and Public Affairs master calendar of outbound communications and projects.
  • Oversee the Marketing and Communications SharePoint sites, or successor, ensuring maintenance and organization of important files, documentation and assets that support the team’s work.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key functions and activities of the communications coordinator role and other communications team processes.
  • Support the Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs teams as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in internal/strategic communications and content management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Proven writing skills with the ability to quickly produce approachable, relevant copy that is reflective of GBFB’s culture, values, goals, mission, and brand.
  • Strong proactive communication and project management skills.
  • Experience fostering relationships across business functions.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized and a keen sense of deadlines.
  • Experience contributing to and helping to develop editorial calendars while adhering to deadline protocols.
  • Experience in strategic communications across audiences and platforms.
  • Basic html, email, use of Adobe Creative suite, Canva, WordPress and familiarity with SharePoint
  • Strong writer with 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience plus related bachelor’s degree (Communications, English/Literature, or related discipline) preferred.
  • Ability to write according to the AP Stylebook.
  • Strong project management skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks with frequently changing requirements and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with people across the organization, as well as external partners.
  • Sensitivity, tact, diplomacy, a spirit of collaboration and strong sense of customer service.
  • Genuine appreciation of GBFB’s mission and the ability to communicate it.
  • Demonstrates the required digital competencies that result in the effective usage of the full range of digital technologies at GBFB.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in a remote or in a traditional office environment.
  • Ability to sit for up to 3 hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment

This job is performed indoors in an office environment.

Travel Required – Yes or No (Highlight one)

  • Yes. Travel to partner agencies to gather client stories. Travel to conferences if applicable.

Valid drivers license and access to a reliable, insured, personal vehicle is required.

Hybrid or 100% On Site – Highlight one

  • Hybrid. On-site presence is required 2 times per week, sometimes more depending on needs of team.
