  • Manufacturing Engineer- Manufacturing Equipment: has full responsibility for the implementation of manufacturing equipment projects and assignments. Manufacturing engineer and can readily apply advanced techniques in the analysis and implementation of projects and assignments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the implementation of the manufacturing equipment strategy, ensuring advanced manufacturing solutions are readily employed.
  • Responsible for interpretation, coordination and execution of projects and assignments, including equipment design, installation, commissioning and start-up, preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, etc.
  • Advisor to cross-functional teams to address manufacturing equipment initiatives.
  • Responsible for providing technical support in assembling and presenting manufacturing equipment concepts and solutions.
  • Deputizes for local Manager, Manufacturing Equipment as required.
  • Coordinates with internal and external groups to support implementation of manufacturing equipment projects and assignments.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the applicable engineering aspects of the quality and safety requirements are implemented in accordance with Company and statutory requirements.
  • Responsible for producing and approving reports and other documents in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Fully capable in use of SolidWorks to create engineering designs and drawings.
  • Ability to analyze structural components with hand calcs and stress simulation software.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.   • University Degree in a Manufacturing or Engineering discipline, plus 2-5 years’ experience; or commensurate combination of education and experience and/or training.
  • High technical ability required.
  • Ability to operate within a multi-tasking dynamic team environment.
  • Aptitude to learning new design tools to broaden experience.
  • Ability to effectively present information and communicate at all levels.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, electric drives, or PLCs a plus
  • Hands-on approach

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Those consistent with an office and manufacturing environment; frequently exposed to moving parts and moderate to loud noise.
  • Regularly exposed to hot and humid conditions (outside weather conditions);, precarious places; and vibration.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 40 pounds
  • Ability to operate computer and other office equipment in the office
  • Ability to sit at a desk for more than one hour at a time
  • Ability to move about the factory floor; walking, crouching, standing, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Plant/Shop/Field Services:
      • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock.
      • Regularly exposed to wet and humid conditions (outside weather conditions); high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration.
      • Occasionally exposed to the risk of radiation or electrical shock.
      • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
    • Office:
      1. Normally work in an office environment or from home as needed by the business; however, occasionally may work at a branch location or manufacturing facility.
      2. Occasionally may be exposed to hazards such as loud noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc., while visiting a branch location or manufacturing facility.
      3. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
