Out Patient Surgery Supervisor

Wood County Hospital is now accepting applications for an Out Patient Surgery Supervisor. The OPS Supervisor Serves as the secondary leadership for the department/unit's daily operations and provides 24/7 oversight in collaboration with the Department Director. Assists with patient care, either directly or indirectly. Demonstrates critical thinking/clinical reasoning to ensure the delivery of safe, quality, timely, compassionate, and cost-effective care to the patient populations served by the department/unit. This is an all-inclusive OR and Outpatient Surgery position.

Job Duties:

• Integrates best practices in the delivery of care.
• Serves/acts as a resource based on current standards of nursing care, including auditing of patient medical records for documentation and risk management issues.
• Serves/acts as a resource to both staff/team members and patients for clinical and ethical issues.
• Participates in patient care delivery either directly or indirectly.

• Uses professional knowledge to develop and revise nursing plans of care for patients according to unit guidelines and criteria.

• Assists in addressing unplanned unit staffing needs by working variable hours/shifts or coordinating coverage with other units.
• Assists with clinical decisions when Department Director is unavailable.

• Demonstrates knowledge of disaster/emergency procedures and responds appropriately.

• Utilizes measures to promote and maintain patient, visitor, and staff safety.

• Demonstrates the appropriate use of infection control principles and personal protective equipment.

• Other duties as assigned.

Shift Details:

Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Shift: 0715-1545

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Education:

• Graduate of an accredited program for nursing education
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)

Minimum License/Certification:

• Current licensure to practice professional Nursing(RN) in the State of Ohio.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required

Preferred Experience:

• Previous charge, supervisory, or management experience preferred

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year OR experience required
