VP of Engineering

1888 Industrial Services is looking for a dedicated and strong VP of Engineering. As the VP of Engineering, the essential responsibilities will be to manage and ensure everything related to engineering development, safeguarding the efficient and simple manner during subsequent construction, assembly, pre- and commissioning, and/or commissioning corresponding to the generated designs. Support and advise other areas of the company from engineering, act as a technical authority. Applications will be accepted until May 1, 2024.

Essential Functions

• Provide the precise and timely information required in the development of their functions.
• Report the issues and news that arise in the development of your function.
• Assist clients personally and by telephone regarding engineering issues.
• Staff pick.
• Verify and guarantee that candidates for the positions of Project Lead Engineers, Project Engineers and Junior Project Engineers comply with the training and experience requested in the corresponding functions manual.
• Guarantee the provision timely and efficient design services, complying with environmental principles and current regulations.
• Demand and permanently ensure compliance with the standards established by the organization.
• Request, review, verify and confirm in particular the information related to the provision of the service.
• Respond to requests regarding design and engineering made by the contractor.
• Manage, review and ensure the selection, sizing and design of civil, mechanical, electrical and/or instrumentation elements.
• Ensure and direct the management and execution of civil, mechanical, electrical and/or instrumentation design processes in an ethical, creative and critical manner.
• Review the development and characterization of materials for engineering and related applications.
• Review and ensure the selection, implementation and control of industrial manufacturing processes of civil, mechanical, electrical and/or electronic parts or elements, observing environmental and quality standards.
• Review and ensure implementation in thermal and hydraulic installations.
• Review, ensure and approve the correct conception in the design and preparation of P&ID and PFD in the bidding and/or engineering execution stages of the projects.
• Manage, review, secure and approve the documents required according to the requests for requirements during the presentation of offers for the design, construction of equipment, assembly, pre-commissioning and/or commissioning, according to the client's requirement.
• Review, ensure and approve the documents developed during the development of basic and detailed engineering, to be presented to the client and once the design is approved, it is manufactured.
• Serve as support, acting as technical authority, for all manufacturing stages, post-design and all complementary processes to said activities and/or other production projects.
• Serve as support, acting as technical authority, for the assembly, start-up and operation stages of the designed system.
• Report the activities carried out in the development of bidding processes or development of basic and detailed engineering of projects and when support is provided to the stages of assembly, equipment manufacturing, pre- and commissioning and start-up of the project.
• Propose improvement processes.
• Prepare budgets for the bidding processes.
• Propose costing strategies and technical-financial evaluation of project valuation.
• Participate in the development of tender presentation strategies.
• Assure, advice, and provide support in all technical questions from external and internal clients.
• The other functions that are assigned and those that are given due to the needs of the service, in accordance with the nature of the position.

Requirements

Educational Requirements

• Electrical Engineering and/or related
• Chemical Engineering
• Petroleum Engineering and/or Process Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

Additional Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering development, design, manufacturing, quality assurance, assembly, pre- and commissioning, start-up and operation of production water treatment systems and/or other processes related to the exploration and production of Petroleum.
