Position Description
As a Painter, job duties may include applying paints, coatings and wall coverings by hand or by using mechanical devices.
Surface preparation may require hand sanding, wire brushing by hand, scraping, grinding, needle gun, pressure washing up to 5000 psi, and abrasive blasting.
Using of hand and/or power tools (conventional/airless) to mix and/or apply paints, coatings, and wall coverings.
Installation of wall coverings requires the use of measuring, cutting, and rolling devices.
Safely lift and carry up to 90 pounds.
Respirator or mask must be worn, as directed by Supervisor or as needed in certain conditions.
Supervisor will direct if any additional tasks are needed.
Complying with all safety regulations and procedures applicable to a chemical plant environment is an absolute must.
Attending work regularly and timely as well as being flexible to work varied shifts and/or overtime as needed.
Position Requirements
Reading and writing proficiently, following directions both oral and written, communicate effectively, take notice of any and all warning labels and signs, work within confined spaces at times. Ability to climb and perform tasks at varied heights. Organizational and planning skills along with a great attention to detail will be needed to interpret drawings and specifications. A color vision test must be passed along with identifying paint colors.
