Chief Engineer

GaN Corporation has an opening for a Chief Engineer supporting the U. S. This position is in our Huntsville, Al offices.

Duties

• Lead and coordinate the efforts of software, mechanical, electrical, and other specialty engineers to ensure an integrated and effective technical effort. Coordinate with program management personnel to prioritize, schedule, and manage technical work, programmatic, and technical objectives.
• Apply systems engineering processes, toolsets, and techniques to efficiently and effectively create systems engineering designs, plans, and reports.
• As required, elicit requirements from customers to understand mission needs and gaps; develop system requirements and designs; plan and conduct verification and validation of developed resources; and plan for and execute transition of capabilities to customers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in a technical discipline (engineering, science, computer science/engineering).
• 15 years of experience supporting DOD programs in engineering including defining operational concepts, system architectures, operational capabilities, as well as deriving system and subsystem level requirements.
• Manufacturing experience in support of Department of Defense programs.
• Experience in one or more of the following: EW, Telemetry, RF, Electrical design, Mechanical Design, and/or software architects
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Master Degree preferred
• Experience with engineering process development, improvement, and leadership.
• Less than 10% travel may be required.

Special Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
• Must have a Secret clearance or be capable of obtaining an interim Secret clearance
