Scope of Job

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the accounts receivable and collections processes at PowerFlex and management of two AR specialists. This individual will be familiar with invoicing across various billing types, milestone construction, hourly service, software, and product. The Accounts Receivable Manager is also responsible for customer contract management, overseeing deferred and unbilled revenue, allowance for doubtful accounts, and AR process improvements. This role is a key member of our accounting team and interacts frequently with business development, project management, and outside customers. The position reports to the Controller, Sr. Director of Accounting at PowerFlex.
Location
This role is open to be 100% remote or a hybrid role out of one of our offices (Mountain View, CA, San Diego, CA or New York, NY.)
Responsibilities
Oversee the accounts receivable process to ensure invoices are submitted accurately, timely, and with required documentation
Lead monthly AR meetings with internal PowerFlex team and drive follow-up on actionable collection efforts
Manage collections and follow up with customers to ensure timely payments
Manage two AR specialists, providing leadership and guidance
Review and set up customer and contracts in the accounting system
Lead the month-end closing process for accounts receivable, including AR to GL reconciliation, deferred/unbilled revenue entries, and allowance for doubtful accounts entries
Continuously build and develop efficient and scalable processes and policies for the accounts receivable function
Partner on year-end financial audit requests including testing selections, confirmations, and drafting relevant disclosure notes
Work with Controller on company-wide goals to reduce AR days outstanding
Work closely with internal stakeholders, such as project team members and business development on billing and collections
Qualifications
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts receivable management, preferably in the construction or renewable energy industry
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to accounts receivable
Experience with multiple types of contracts and billing forms including milestone construction billing (AIA form), T&M (time and material) O&M invoices, software, and product invoices
Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Sage 300, or equivalent
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Top-notch organizational and follow-up abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment to deliver results
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Advanced knowledge of Excel is required
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $102,500 - $171,000 annually. This position is eligible for PowerFlex's comprehensive Health and Welfare plans including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off. The total compensation for this position may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable). PowerFlex's compensation packages carefully consider a candidate's qualifications, experiences, and education in relation to the position.

Physical Requirements
Remaining in a seated position. Long hours on computer keyboard. Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50/80 pounds regularly/occasionally.
Working Conditions
Approximately 90% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers, telephones, and general office equipment. Possibly 10% of the time is spent traveling to conferences or meetings. Occasional physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary - up to 10 pounds.
