Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster for a direct hire firm in Independence. You will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and settling workers' compensation claims efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities:

Investigate workers' compensation claims by gathering relevant information, interviewing claimants, witnesses, and employers, and reviewing medical records and other documentation.
Analyze claim information, including medical reports, to determine the extent of liability and eligibility for benefits.
Evaluate the validity of claims and make decisions regarding coverage, compensability, and settlement options.
Establish and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including claimants, employers, medical providers, attorneys, and internal teams.
Monitor the progress of claims, follow up on outstanding information or documentation, and ensure timely resolution.
Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to manage litigated claims and represent the company's interests in hearings and mediations.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in insurance, risk management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience handling workers' compensation claims.
Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and claims practices.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in computer applications, including claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
